Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
The short version
- FujiSims has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Your recipes and backups stay on your devices. Nothing is sent to us.
- Apple handles payments. We never see your card or your Apple Account details.
- When iCloud sync arrives, it will use your own private iCloud storage, which we can't read.
Who we are
FujiSims is made by Harry Kyffin, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. You can reach us at support@fujisims.co.
This policy covers the FujiSims app and this website, fujisims.co.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no server of its own and does not send your data to us or to anyone else. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code from us or from third parties.
What the app keeps on your device
To do its job, the app stores these on your iPhone, inside the app's own storage:
- Your recipe library: the recipes you save, their names and notes, when they were made, and which camera model they came from.
- Backups of your camera's C1–C7 slots, which you can see and share in the Files app.
- Your camera's complete settings file, kept when you connect over Bluetooth so that the camera can be put back exactly as it was. This file is made by the camera and includes its Wi-Fi password and the owner name set on it. The app keeps it out of the Files app, encrypts it while your iPhone is locked, never syncs it, and keeps only the most recent copies.
- Small preferences, such as the camera model you chose, cameras you've connected to before, and Bluetooth pairing codes.
Like other app data, these may be included in your iPhone's own device backup (to iCloud or to a computer), under your control and Apple's terms.
Deleting the app deletes all of this from your iPhone. Anything you've exported or shared elsewhere stays where you put it.
Your camera
The app talks to your Fujifilm camera directly, over a USB-C cable or over Bluetooth. That is why it asks for permission to use Bluetooth and to access a connected camera.
When paired over Bluetooth, the camera asks the phone for its location so it can geotag photos. FujiSims answers with the time only and leaves the location empty. It never reads your location and never asks for permission to.
Purchases
FujiSims Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and tells the app only whether you have an active subscription, so it can unlock Pro features. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is coming in a future update. When it arrives, it will copy your recipe library and slot backups to the private iCloud storage of your own Apple Account, so they appear on your other devices. That storage belongs to you: we can't see or access it. Your camera's settings file, with its Wi-Fi password, will never be synced. You'll be able to turn sync off at any time.
Sharing files
If you choose to share a recipe, backup or report from the app, for example by Messages, email or AirDrop, it goes only where you send it. If you send something to us for support, we use it only to help you and delete it once your question is resolved.
Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write or attach. We use it only to reply to you, never for marketing, and we don't share it. We keep support emails for up to two years and then delete them, or sooner if you ask. Our email is hosted by our email provider, who processes it on our behalf.
This website
fujisims.co uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and its fonts are served from this site rather than a third party. Like any website, the company that hosts it may briefly keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running securely.
Children
FujiSims isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you, and object to how it's used. In practice the only personal data we could hold is a support email you've sent us. Email support@fujisims.co and we'll respond within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version of the app is released. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
